He served in the 8th Army Airforce, 2nd Air Division, 96th Bomb Wing, 466th Bomb Group, 786th Bomb Squadron. He was a B24 liberator pilot who flew 35 missions without incident. He was stationed at Attlebridge Arsenal in England. His combat tour was from 8/25/1944 - 3/18/1945. He was awarded the Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters and a Certificate of Valor.
