Activity During WWII

305th Infantry Regiment, 77th Infantry Division – Pacific Theater and Europe. He was inducted into the US Army as a Sargent on January 25, 1943 in Norfolk, Virginia. His first assignment was in the Asiatic Pacific Theater where he served as a Medical Laboratory Tech. His letters home indicate that he originally arrived by boat in the Philippines. He received a Good Conduct Metal, Asiatic -Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and Victory Ribbon with 1 Overseas Bar for his service. His second assignment placed him as a Radar Observer Night Fighter during in major conflicts in the PO Valley, the Appennines, Ardennes and. Rhineland. He was relieved of his duty there on December 28, 1945. For his service he received the European African Middle East Theater Campaign Ribbon, two Overseas bars and one Victory ribbon.
