He received the WWII Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with 6 Bronze Stars. He served 212 missions with the Army. He served with the 8th Army Air Force, 2nd Air Division with the 467th Bombardment Group- Heavy Duty, 789th Squadron stationed at RAF Rackheath near Norwich, Norfolk, England. He enlisted and served domestically from February 11, 1943 thru February 26, 1944. He was then sent to England and Europe from February 27, 1944 until June 16, 1945. He then continued to serve domestically from June 17, 1945 until October 11, 1945. He was honorably discharged from the 233rd Army Air Force on October 11, 1945 at Davis -Monthan Field, Tucson, Arizona.
