Activity During WWII

He enlisted in the United States Army in January 1943 during World War II. He served with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade in Company "C" of the 825th Engineer Aviation Battalion, a unit of the 9th Engineer Command attached to the 9th Air Force. His battalion was responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of airfields and air infrastructure, which were essential to Allied air operations in Europe after the Normandy landings.
