My uncle served in the 45th Thunderbird division. He was kia on Sept 12th 1944 and is buried at The Rhone American Cemetery I France. I have his 2 flags and his Purple Heart. He was 1 of 5 brothers who went but the only one who died. He was honored from his home in Kenduskeag Maine as he was the only kid of 44 that was killed. They have officially named a bridge for him.
