He served with The "Timberwolves" arrived in Cherbourg, France on September 7th, 1944. And he/they entered into battle on October 24th. He/they fought for a record 195 days straight. Two notables were their involvement in the battle of the bulge and the liberation of Mittelbau Dora Concentration Camp in Norhausen, Germany on April 11, 1945.
