Activity During WWII

He entered service on 16 June 1943 and attend Bootcamp at NS Great Lakes Illinois. Upon completion he attended (A) fundamental, (C) specialized, and Gunners training at Gulfport Mississippi where he became a Gunners Mate. He fought and served in the European-African Campaigns, Italian Campaigns, Naples Foggia Campaign, and the Pacific Campaigns on the SS Dwight W. Morrow (Operation Torch) and the SS Camp Namnau (Operation Musketeer) earning the the European-African Campaign Medal (2 BS), American Campaign Medal, Asiatic- Pacific Medal, Philippines Liberation Medal, and the American Defense Service Medal. Following victory in Europe and Japan his final post was NS Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
