Activity During WWII

He was inducted into the US Army on Nov. 6, 1942 in Philadelphia,PA. In May, 1943 he qualified as an 03 Rifle Marksman. He departed for overseas on May 3, 1944 and participated in the following campaigns and battles: Northern France, Rhineland, The Ardennes and Central European at a rank of T/SGT. He was a member of the Mighty 44th MRU in Gen. Patton's Third Army. He received the following medals and citations: The Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, American THR Service Medal, the EAME Medal with 4 Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. He arrived back in the US on November 12, 1945. He was honorably discharged on November 17, 1945 at Indiantown Gap, PA.
