Activity During WWII

Served with the 486th Bomb Group as an Armorer-Gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress completing 35 missions over enemy territory. Their flight cre were known as the "Gentlemen from Hell ." He was stationed in Lavenham, Suffolk, England from 22 Sep 1943 to 7 Nov 1945. Near the end of WWII, his plane crash landed over German-occupied Belgium and was hidden and cared for by the Resistance. He made it to Brussels and was sent back to England.
