Spent all of the war years as Women's Employment Manager at Inland Division of General Motors. I interviewed and hired hundreds of women who ran the machines or inspected the products of Inland assembly lines -- mostly carbines used by our troops on the battle lines. I did not myself fight any battles but hundreds of women and I replaced the men who were then available to fight. By the end of the war Inland had 6000 employees doing war production -- 3000 were women.
