Served as an Mechanical Engineer (Massachusetts Institute of Technology Graduate), owned and ran a Bowling alley in D.C.. Missed the Draft by 1 month, was drafted by the Government to Work at the Naval Torpedo Plant in Alexandria, Virginia. Was given 2 weeks to lease his bowling alley and report to the torpedo plant, where he worked until the war ended and the original workers returned. He made torpedoes and rockets toward the end of the war.
