Activity During WWII

Served 31 months overseas; 25 months in North Africa and Italy. Company I, 135th Infantry Regiment, 34th Division. Fought at San Vittore, Cassino, Anzio, Rome, Leghorn, Pisa and Bologna to the Alps. Wounded twice in Italy. Awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater medal with four Bronze Battle Campaign Stars, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
