Seven died, 3 taken POW. Plane went down in flames. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, European Campaign Ribbon with two battle stars for the invasion of Italy and the air battle of Europe.
