Activity During WWII

Flight engineer and top turret gunner on a B-24 Liberator. Served in the 15th Air Force, 455th Bomb Group, 742nd Squadron. Shot down over Bulgaria and taken POW. Parachuted 19,000 feet. Seven died, 3 taken POW. Plane went down in flames. Awarded Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, European Campaign Ribbon with two battle stars for the invasion of Italy and the air battle of Europe.
