Activity During WWII

Enlisted May 25, 1944 and completed recruit training at Parris Island, South Carolina. In April of 1945, arrived on Guam for further training. Joined the 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division at Okinawa as a Browning Automatic Rifleman; wounded in action there. In December of 1945, transferred to Tientsin, China, until his return to Camp LeJeune in July of 1946. Discharged in August of 1946. Awarded the Purple Heart, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal with 1 star, American Theater Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the China Service Medal.
