104th Timberwolf Division. Drafted into Army October 1943. Received basic and specialized training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Left New York April 15, 1944 by Troop convoy, arrived Liverpool England May 2, 1944; after 1 month at South Hampton got assigned to the 104th Infantry Division in France, under the 1st U.S. Army. Went through Aachen, Cologne, across Rhine, met Russians at Elbe River May 1944. Came home for 30 days in U.S. then got stopped at Fort Ord, California as Japan surrendered. Discharged February 14, 1946 at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.
