31st Signal Construction. En route to China-Burma-India via Mediterranean Sea, British Troop Transport Carrier HMT Rhona was bombed by a German plane carrying aerial missile torpedo striking the Rhona and causing 1,128 to be killed. I was one of the few survivors. Served with Company B, 31st Signal Company Battalion. Received Purple Heart.
