Served as interpreter for the first Japanese that came aboard The USS Missouri to surrender to the Allied Forces. In Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, upon receiving instructions that we were going to Istanbul, Turkey, a Jewish refugee family asked me to locate their relatives which I did, with the help of a representative of the Turkish Government.
