Served on DE-23 Pacific areas 1943-1945; USS Proteus AS-19 early 1945. First group to enter Yokosuka Naval Base at end of war. Saw signing of surrender papers, USS Missouri BB-63. Among the first to be discharged 10-16-45. Awarded 4 Medals and 3 Bronze Stars.
