Served in C Company, 51st Armed Infantry Battalion, 4th Armored Division. Participated in the Normandy Invasion, Battle of the Bulge, Ardennes, European Theatre. Served in governing Germany for six months due to fluency in the language. Received the Silver Star with five battle stars, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Distinguished Unit decoration. Received a letter of citation for work with the military government with the Army of Occupation. Trained and served as an investigator and interpreter for the Army. Involved in the liberation of concentration camp Ohrduff, sub-camp of Buchenwald, first week of April 1945.
