Enlisted man, draftee, Quartermaster Corps Railway Engineers, June 17, 1941 to December 3, 1942, Infantry. Officer Candidate School (OCS) until March 7, 1943. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant March 8, 1943. Trained troops, Camp Walters, Texas. 70th Division Camp Adair, Oregon. In charge of 200 replacements overseas shipment to Italy from Fort Meade, Maryland. Italy assigned with Infantry Regiment 25th Division April 1, 1944 until returned to U.S. Hampton Roads, Virginia November 22, 1945 released and assigned to volunteer, Red Cross Organization. China-Burma-India, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
