Activity During WWII

Served with Headquarters Company, 136th Ordnance Maintenance Battalion, 14th Armored Division. Came up through the ranks to become 1st Sergeant of Headquarters Company. Prior to 1st Sergeant rank, supervised his team in the operation of repairs to tanks, recovery of disabled tanks and vehicles. Equipped with a complete mobile machine shop, able to machine or rebuild almost anything. One of the biggest projects was to retire bogey wheels for the movement of tanks into battle. Before the end of the war, was requested to Headquarters Company, 4th Armored Division by Captain Eldon Adams. Then moved on to the 83rd Signal Company, convoyed the 83rd Signal Company to Lenz, Austria and joined the 27th Yankee Division. Then sent to Unterhosen, Austria to form a new cadre known as the 94th Infantry for home embarkation. Discharged Fort MacArthur, San Pedro, California.
