Bombardment of Wake Island August 1, 1945 of Task Group 12.3, acted as Headquarters and escort to Army surrender ships during operations in the Amami Island Group. July 28, 1945 crossed the 180th Meridian and entered into the 'Realm of the Golden Dragon'.
