Assigned to the 804th, U.S. Capitol Building Army Map Service. Guarded Washington's Water Supply from Great Falls into D.C. Stationed at various locations in and around Washington, D.C. on June 18, 1944. Transferred to Fort Devens, Massachusetts and began escorting German prisoners of war from Boston, Massachusetts to various camps throughout the U.S. Awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal with six clusters, Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and National Defense Ribbon. After twenty years of service, retired as a Sergeant Major E-9.
