Activity During WWII

Enlisted January 26, 1942. Upon completion of basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama, transferred to Fort Benning, Georgia where he operated an amplifier system for officers. The sound system enabled cadets to hear instructions for battles and attacks and how they would command firings. Transferred to European Theater in February 1945. His unit drove trucks which helped to ensure General Patton's Army had fuel. After V-E Day, he was placed in charge of a food depot in Paris. Honorably discharged January 5, 1946. Awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Marksmanship Badge with Rifle Bar.
