Battles and Campaigns: New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Bismarck Archipelago, Western Pacific, Northern and Southern Philippines, Luzon, Manila, Lingayen Gulf, Ie Shima, Okinawa. Decorations and Citations: Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Badge with Oak Leaf Cluster, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal with five Bronze Stars, Victory Medal, Philippines Liberation Medal and the Korean Occupation Medal. Left U.S. on May 25, 1945 aboard the USS Mt. Vernon; landed 14 days later in Sydney, Australia. Returned to U.S. in November 1945 aboard the USS Marine Falcon to Tacoma, Washington. Discharged at Indiantown Gap on November 26, 1945. Ordnance materials, guns and ammunition for P-32 fighter planes.
