Activity During WWII

Occupation forces, European Theater of Operations. American Graves Registration Command Headquarters IV Sector, mostly throughout France, from as far south as Marsailles to south of Paris and near the border of Germany. Military Police Unit, investigated the whereabouts of our fallen comrades, directing German Prisoners of War to dig out remains in order that people could be identified for burial in Military Cemeteries or be shipped back to the U.S. to their families. Also served as Honor Guard at burials or on a plane when flying coffins back to the U.S.
