Enlisted May 28, 1942.Trained in ordnance. Served on the USS Albemarle in the Atlantic Theater, tracking and destroying enemy submarines and freeing waters of mines. Participated in the invasions of Casa Blanca and Normandy. Among others, received medals from the European-African-Middle Eastern campaign and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign; also, citations for excellence, meritorious service, and outstanding performance duty.
