Served 1943-1946 in the European Theater of Operations under General Dwight D. Eisenhower and General George S. Patton. Served in England, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany in the campaigns of Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. Member of the 912th Ordnance Company. Drove an 8-man half-track. Landed at Utah Beach, Normandy, France. Stationed at Bruhl, Germany during the Battle of the Bulge. Awarded the European Theater of Operations Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, American Theater of Operations Service Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal with special commendation and the Victory in Europe Medal. Honorably discharged at Fort Douglas, Utah on January 6, 1946.
