Landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944, went all the way to the Elbe River when the war ended. Wounded outside Aachen, Germany. Awarded 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Awarded the French Legion of Honor in 2004 on the 60th anniversary of D-Day.
