SERVED UNDER MAJOR GENERAL LUNSFORD E. OLIVER, COMMANDING 5TH ARMORED DIVISION (THE VICTORY DIVISION). THE DIVISION STORMED ACROSS FRANCE AND MADE A LOT OF TANK HISTORY. MY BROTHER STARTED WITH THEM FROM NORMANDY'S HEDGES TO AACHEN, GERMANY, WHERE HE WAS HIT BY SHRAPNEL DECEMBER 12 AND DIED DECEMBER 13, 1944.
