With the very first B-24 Heavy Bomb Group to arrive in England in August 1942. With the 328th Bomb Squadron, 93rd Heavy Bomb Group. Remained in England until May 26, 1945. Top Scoring Bomb Group in Europe. Campaigns included: Air Offensive Europe, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Sicily, Naples, Foggia, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and Air Combat the Balkans. Received the Good Conduct medal, American Defense Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and Campaign Medal with eleven Bronze Stars.
