Activity During WWII

Enlisted in September 1940. Assigned to the 5th Engineer Combat Regiment, Fort Belvoir. First job, Company Clerk, A Company. Regiment moved to Iceland in September 1941. Became Head Clerk, Headquarters Company. Sent to England February 1943 to take West Point Exam. Assigned to Colonel Istcher in London October 1943. Started Headquarters Advanced Section, Communications Zone, Engineering Section. Entered France on D-Day with Headquarters Unit. Followed from Omaha Beach to Colonel Istcher Etamps then Reims, France, then to Namur, Belgium with last location Fulda, Germany. Discharged in July, 1945.
