Construction Battalion. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 9, 1944. Entered on November 14, 1944. Was 'volunteered' into a Construction Battalion outfit, the 139th Construction Battalion, attached to a Marine Group. Served with the Marines at Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945 and at Okinawa on April 1, 1945. Received the Pacific Theater Ribbon with One Star, American Theater Ribbon, and Victory Medal. Honorably discharged May 22, 1946.
