Graduated with a rating of very satisfactory from the inspection and maintenance course at Embry-Riddle School of Aviation, Miami, Florida. He served overseas at Natal, Brazil. He was responsible for keeping planes clean and in good operating condition and preflighted the planes. He was an aerial engineer on C-47 and C-87 planes. He had approximately 300 hours of military flying time.
