Activity During WWII

Corps of Engineers. He was made 1st Lieutenant overseas. Landed at Omaha Beach D-Day + 22 hours with 29th Division. 121st Engineer Combat Battalion. Began it's landing with leading elements of assaulting Infantry. All companies of the battalion were landed early in the day while the beach was still under heavy enemy fire. In spite of heavy personnel losses, the 121st Engineer Combat Battalion accomplished it's assigned mission of opening and preparing Omaha Beach lanes. He lost half of his company immediately upon landing. Honorable Discharge on April 1, 1953.
