Battery A, 63rd Field Artillery Battalion. Trained at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Hawaiian Islands. Spent 40 months with the field artillery in the Pacific. Active in campaigns on Luzon, Bataan, Mindanao, Philippines and New Guinea. He was awarded 5 battle stars, Asiatic-Pacific medal with 3 Bronze stars, Philippine Liberation ribbon with 2 Bronze stars and Good Conduct medal. He was section chief of gun crew.
