Unit Commander, Anti-Tank Company, Eighth Regiment, Fourth Infantry Division. One of 4 sons to serve. 1st Monroe Company, Kentucky. Draftee to become a commissioned officer. Landed at H-Hour on D-Day, at the Utah Beachhead in Normandy. Commander at Bamberg, Germany during the occupational period. Was in the Battle of Huertgen Forest and fought with General Patton's Third Army.
