Activity During WWII

Served on the USS Rodman DD-456 and DMS-21. Served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Earned 4 Battle Stars and a Navy Unit Commendation. Participated in the sinking of the U-616, invasion of Normandy on D-Day and the invasion of Southern France. Also served in the battle of Okinawa, where the ship suffered major damage when attacked by 6 kamikazes and hit by 3 on April 6, 1945.
