Served in utility squadrons in Oklahoma and Maine. Participated in towing target sleeves for ship crews to practice gunnery. Towed targets over new battleship New Jersey after that. Trained in tactical radar and fighter director to be in high altitude aircraft to detect kamikaze suicide pilots and direct the shoot downs before they could damage our ships.
