Drafted 3/20/41, for peace time training as an infantryman on 12/7/41. The unit was shipped overseas on 12/15/41, to Australia, New Caledonia and Guadalcanal. 11/43, severely wounded in the arm with shrapnel. After 1 year in the Army hospital in El Paso, Texas, was medically discharged in 9/44.
