Stationed at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, He eventually shipped out to Europe with the 42nd Rainbow Division in 1944. He served in 1944 and 1945 as a Sergeant in a weapons platoon. He saw combat action in France, Austria and finally Germany.
