Activity During WWII

He joined the Marines straight out of college in 1942. After Basic training and Officer Candidate School (OCS), he went straight to the Pacific where he fought on most of the islands. He was in the armada on its way to attack Japan when the atomic bomb was dropped. He and the others became the occupation force in Japan.
