Served in the Amphibious Force in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, entered the Navy as a volunteer on March 10, 1944 and was discharged on January 11, 1946. A Motor-Machinist's Mate on the assault transport USS Fuller APA-7 and took part in the landings at Saipan, Tinian, Peleliu, at Leyte and Luzon in the Philippine Islands and at Okinawa. Took part in the Occupation of Japan, Korea and North China. Earned seven Battle Stars, Navy Asia Occupation Medal and China Service Medal.
