Inducted in 1944 served as a Infantry Rifleman, 2nd Armored Division; fought in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Battle of the Bulge. Wounded twice, received Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, President Citation, Bronze Star, American Service Medal, European Theatre of Operations Service Medal, Victory Medal and the Belgium Fourragere, Combat Infantryman Badge. Distinguished Unit medal, Army of Occupation medal and New York State Conspicuous Service and Good Conduct medal. Honorably discharged in 1946.
