9th Army, 101st Division, 407th Infantry, Company C, participated in Invasion of Europe. He off loaded at Cherbourg and fought through France and Belgium into Germany. He was wounded at Krefeld. Awarded a Bronze Star in the Rhineland Campaign and a Purple Heart. After the leg and foot wound were treated, he was re-assigned and was a guard at the Nuremberg Trial.
