In April 1941, basic training at Camp Claibourne, Louisiana with 109th Division Engineers of 34th Division. Went to Northern Ireland, April 1942. Made the Invasion of North Africa on 8-11-42. Spent most of the time working on roads, looking for and taking up mines. In Italy from August 1942 to April 1945. Twice wounded during that time. Trained troops at Fort Lewis, Washington from June 1945 to September 1945, then discharged.
