Entered service on September 22, 1942 from Camp Dodge, Iowa. Was a Motor Sergeant 813. Left U.S. for Europe on November 3, 1943. Trained numerous companies in England on way to water-proof vehicles in preparation for D-Day invasion. Served in numerous battles and campaigns in Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe, including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. Served with the 60th Chemical Depot. Returned to the U.S. in November 1945 and was discharged on December 1, 1945. Decorations included 4 Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe, the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Medal.
