Volunteered at the age of 36, served with 46th Signal Heavy Construction Battalion in Germany, was on his way to Japan when they surrendered. I, his daughter, was 2 years old when he volunteered. He would never talk about the war so we don't know too much about what he went through, but we know it was hell.
