Killed in the South Pacific. Entered military service on April 13, 1942. Assigned to Company F, 307th Infantry, 77th Division. Died on June 2, 1944. His body was buried in Schofield Barracks Cemetery, Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Remains returned to next of kin, followed by burial in family plot on October 25, 1947 with full military honors.
