71st Infantry, Company L, 44th Division. Went to the European Theater with Headquarters 4, Headquarters, XIII Corps from July 1944 to July 1945. On the west coast out of Fort Lewis, Washington. Came back East and was reassigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, XIII Corps. Met the Russians in East Germany. Came home on 30 day furlough and regrouped in a Camp in California. Was discharged after bomb was dropped on Japan.
